Apply to have your journal assessed for inclusion in the CIOTR Journal Index (CJI). Applications are free, reviewed by our editorial team, and answered by email.
We keep the process short and predictable. You will always hear from us either way, and every decision comes with a reason.
Complete the application below with your journal's bibliographic details, website, and contact address. There is no application fee.
Our editorial team checks the journal against the criteria opposite, reviews recent issues, and verifies the ISSN and publisher details.
You receive a decision at the address you supplied, normally within two to four weeks. If we decline, we explain why and you are welcome to reapply.
Accepted journals are added to the public list with a permanent CJI identifier, and receive the official seal to display on their own website.
A journal does not need to be large or long-established to be indexed. It does need to be transparent about how it operates.
Fields marked * are required. Everything you send goes to our editorial team only, and is never shared or sold.
Accepted journals receive the official seal by email, in PNG and SVG, along with the snippet below. Please keep it linked to our public list so that readers can verify the listing.
Paste this wherever you would like the badge to appear. Please do not recolour, crop, or stretch it.

Most applications are decided within two to four weeks of submission. Complex cases, or journals where we need to request additional information, can take longer.
You receive an email explaining the reasons. Nothing is added to the public list. Once the points raised have been addressed, you are welcome to apply again.
Yes. If a journal stops meeting the criteria — for example, its website goes offline, publication stops for a prolonged period, or serious ethical concerns arise — we may suspend or remove the listing. We contact the publisher first wherever possible.
No. CJI records that a journal has been assessed against our inclusion criteria. It does not calculate citation counts, impact factors, or journal rankings, and it should not be presented as doing so.
Once accepted, yes — please describe it accurately as indexed in the CIOTR Journal Index (CJI), with a link to your entry on the journals list so that readers can verify it.
