Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement
The Journal of Smart Computing follows the Code of Conduct of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Author responsibilities
Authors warrant that their submission is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not currently under consideration by another journal. All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the work and must agree to the submission and final published version. Any conflicts of interest, funding sources, and acknowledgements must be declared at submission.
Plagiarism
All submitted manuscripts are screened for plagiarism. Manuscripts containing plagiarised material — including self-plagiarism and inadequate citation of one's own prior work — will be rejected. Confirmed plagiarism after publication will result in retraction.
Editor responsibilities
Editors evaluate manuscripts on their scientific merit alone, without regard to authors' race, gender, nationality, or institutional affiliation. Editors must disclose any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where a conflict exists.
Reviewer responsibilities
Reviewers must treat all received manuscripts as confidential. Reviewers must declare conflicts of interest and decline assignments where conflicts exist. Reviewer comments must be objective, constructive, and supported by evidence.
Misconduct
Allegations of research misconduct (fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate submission) will be investigated according to COPE guidelines. Where misconduct is confirmed, the journal will issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions as appropriate.
Corrections and retractions
Honest errors discovered after publication will be addressed through published corrections. Substantive errors that invalidate the conclusions of an article will result in retraction with a clear statement of the reason.
